"Euskal Herria has awarded independence and EH Bildu"
- EH Secretary General Bildu, Arnaldo Otegi, has been pleased from Donostia-San Sebastián. He points out that they are going through “a truly happy night,” “a magical night.” After thanking all those who have worked in the campaign, he said that Euskal Herria has awarded independence and EH Bildu.
“We’ve had impressive results. Although the absence has increased, we are the only party in Hego Euskal Herria that has risen in votes. We have also increased representation. EH Bildu is the only party with representation in four countries and the first force in representation.”
He points out that they had two marked challenges and achieved both: Getting a seat in Álava – “we have won the trifachite for the second time” – and in Navarre sending Bel Pozueta to Madrid – “is a poetic justice” –.
Otegi said that it has been shown that the Spanish State is in a "very serious" crisis situation. “The results have shown this. Elections have not been convened to emerge from the crisis, but elections are held because they are in crisis. Today it has again been demonstrated that there are different national realities: In the Basque Country, Catalonia and Galicia the photography is different”.
The following aspects are welcomed: Galego Nationalist Bloc, CUP, JxCat and ERC.
“Let’s not forget that dark forces are driving anti-democratic involution, and the results of Vox prove it. Left-wing sovereigns are going to be on par. We want to show our solidarity with the socialist, anti-fascist and republican sectors that are in the Spanish state, know that we are with you.” In Otegi’s words, Franco will be defeated by “or not” sovereigns. To this end, it has called for the political declaration of Llotja del Mar, which was signed a few weeks ago within the association. “This is the program that entails the breaking of Franco. We will exceed 2 million votes and we will be 29 Members”.
Finally, he has affirmed that EH Bildu should be the home of the progressive sectors of the Basque Country and has finished his assessment by reminding the political prisoners of Euskal Herria and Catalonia.
