The Ospa movement has chosen this year’s motto Ospa! For today, “there are thousands of reasons to say why we don’t want repressive forces.” To do so, the Ospa movement wants “to know the path of repression, to scream out loud that truth that has been silenced and denied, to build the memory of those who have been forgotten, to build the memory of the working class”. For that, Ospa! On the eve of 30 Friday, a round table will be held in which the relatives of the militants killed by the dirty war in Sakana will meet. The following day, among other things, a walk will be held "representing the path of repression in Altsasu".
In the presentation, the members of the movement were “dismayed”, “one more year Ospa! We are still full of reasons for organizing the day, because repression is not over. One more year, because they have striven to make it clear why they want to live in a society free and free from repressive ones, because they have packed their bags with many other reasons.” Social control, fines, searches, controls, residents' arrests, trials, etc. were also reported. And they recalled that Fran Balda and Imanol Salinas “are at risk of incarcerating our neighbors for fighting.”
For their part, the members of Ospa were “eager”, “because we have not been ashamed of repression, because we have responded to repression with solidarity and struggle, because in the people, through the Foral Police, we have faced the attempt to normalize the occupation, because we have faced organized aggression”. They consider that the fact that their movements are moving forward is "a sign that it is necessary to fight to protect themselves from repression and denounce it".
Ospa members have stressed that “the context of criminalization against popular movements is in place”. “When repression and oppression persist and there is much talk about building peace and coexistence in the new political context of Euskal Herria, we know that it is impossible to build it within the capitalist system that both the Spanish and the French states try to perpetuate.” Because “we have thousands of reasons to think otherwise, because we know that the source of conflict is oppression and not that of those who rise up against this oppression and suffer repression. And we know this, among other things, because we have memory. Because we do not forget what has happened and continues to happen in our people, and we learn from what has happened. Because it has filled the suitcase for evicting the repressive forces that we live in this country.”
