Irantzu Uriarte highlighted that this is an "inescapable quote" with the world of the Getxophoto image in the presentation he made this afternoon in Puerto Viejo. In addition, he has indicated that "Getxophoto also represents collaboration between public institutions and the social agents of the environment."
Getxophoto director Jokin Aspuru recalled that the health crisis had forced the festival to adapt. For this reason, almost all exhibitions will be in the open air and have designed an extensive programme that will include podcast, apps and digital proposals. "They are all going to develop on the network," he stressed.
This year's motto, "Kalera! ", wished to claim the public space (physical and online) as a place of meeting and mutual recognition. As he explained, the fourteenth edition of Getxophoto has been organized as an updated protest setting and as a space for experimentation, play and celebration.
The official opening of the festival will take place on Friday, September 4, at 19:30 a.m., at the Andrés Isasi Music School in Las Arenas. Commissioner Jon Uriarte, along with the artists who have participated in the festival, will make a visual review of the proposals presented at the festival.
