Complaints and complaints to Osakidetza continue: 10% until September
- The Patient and User Care Service has received 7,709 complaints and 28,352 complaints in the first nine months of 2023. The figure is already higher than in previous years.
The service provided by Osakidetza is generating more and more complaints and complaints. According to data provided by Health Advisor Gotzone Sagardui, following the parliamentary question of EH Bildu, in the first nine months of 2023 the Patient and User Care Service received 28,352 complaints and 7,709 complaints, a total of 36,060. Regarding the 32,691 incidents recorded in the first nine months of 2022, this year complaints and complaints have increased by 10.3%. As for the congratulations, in 2022 it was when most received them: 2.010.
It should be noted that the number of complaints and complaints filed in the first nine months of 2023 is higher than the total number of complaints made throughout the year between 2017 and 2021. In these years the figures were: 34,501 in 2017, 35,834 in 2018, 32,446 in 2019, 29,801 in 2020 and 34,956 in 2021.
As received by Naiz, EH Bildu parliamentarian Rebeka Ubera asked the Health Advisor for information on complaints and complaints. Ubera points out that the data should be used to start taking action “once and for all”: “They are further evidence of Osakidetza’s continued worsening in recent years and the concern of people who see that they do not receive the attention they need and deserve.”
“Strengthening Osakidetza”
On Saturday, the Public Platform for Public Health will be holding demonstrations denouncing the “grave situation” of Osakidetza: “An absolutely public health system must be set up to ensure universal, quality and equitable access.”
Dozens of trade unions and Basque agents have joined demonstrations, including LAB, ELA, ATH-ELE, ESK, Eman Eskua and the Osakidetza Personnel Network. LAB opens the call to participate: “Demand the strengthening of the public system and reject the diversion of public money to private health”.
The mobilisations will be held on Saturday 11 November in the three Basque capitals: They will be in Bilbao (12:00 from the Sacred Heart), San Sebastian (17:00 from the Boulevard) and Vitoria (12:00 from the Plaza Bilbao).
