Two Orkoien neighbours suffered sexual violence at their sports facilities during the months of January and February. Eh Bildu has stated that the mayor was informed of the facts as soon as he was known, and that the latter was aware of the facts.
As Ahotsa reported in a statement, EH Bildu clearly disagreed with the situation: "From EH Bildu Orkoien we want to show our support for the victims of these events and to make clear our rejection of these actions that are nothing but a reflection of machismo and violence towards the heteropatriarchal system," he added. The party has denounced that the "passive attitude" of the City Hall has led to the violence being repeated in a few weeks and becoming more and more aggravated.
In this sense, the coalition requested an urgent call from the Equality Commission, with the participation of the equality technician and the manager of the Iturgain Municipal Association, but did not receive a response. In the absence of a response to the request of the special committee, EH Bildu has tabled an urgent motion calling for the following decisions to be taken:
- The urgent convening of a special committee.
- That the committee should clarify why the town hall has not been set up.
-Clarify questions that may arise from these investigations.
-Commitment to update the internal and sanctioning regimes that are applied in municipal facilities with responsibility and without delay.
-Train staff working for the City of Orkoien to know how to act in a situation of this kind.
-Act responsibly to avoid any type of violence in all municipal facilities.
