Workers have often organized themselves in collaboration to meet their needs, as shown by the thousands of examples of history that have been hidden from us: consumer cooperatives, mutual cooperatives, cooperatives for access to collective services, cooperative financial structures... Organized workers, with all these built experiences, have managed to improve their living situation and, sometimes, even initiate significant changes for the whole society.
Among them, working cooperatives built between members who come together to work together are particularly important. In fact, these experiences not only open the way to collective transformation, but the resulting results are one of the most important ways to create prosperity.
Prosperity, yes, but for everyone. In the face of the processes of accumulation of the capitalist system, we propose the prosperity that is built by the proper distribution of the wealth that we generate; leaving no one behind, as this year’s motto says. For this reason, those of us who have decided to take the work into our own hands and organize it, those of us who reject interpersonal exploitation, cannot ignore those who are excluded by this system based on the generation and exploitation of inequalities.
July is a time of harvest, therefore, a time of prosperity. This year, and every year thereafter, on July 1, we invite you to celebrate with us the transformative character and prosperity of cooperatives. To celebrate that we are building that prosperity that we want for all, because it makes the path itself real; because what is not celebrated, does not exist!
Prosperity for all!
