Olatz Salvador publishes 'Aho uhal', her second solo album
Olatz Salvador (Amara Berri, 1990) has bolstered his solo career, and the result is that he has just presented his new album, Ahouhal. Since Zintzilik published in 2018, the Donostiarra musician has composed and performed a work of twelve pieces: “It has been a long process, the album is also long and I know that in these times it is not appropriate to make long albums,” Salvador stressed in the presentation video of the album.
The donostiarra has on his new album his best fellow travellers: Producer Pablo Novoa, Ander Zulaika battery, bass player Jagoba Salvador and guitarist Mattin Saldias. He also recorded a song with Rozalen, Idoia Asurmendi and Ivan Ferreiro. In addition, Salvador has composed the album music the words of the bertsolaris Alaia Martin and Ane Labaka.
The Donostia musician has also uncovered the details of his boxing leash name: “I found it paradoxical that the word that has the connotation of taking control or guiding something in Spanish, translated into Basque, takes the connotation of being controlled, I liked it and I found it an interesting starting point to play with it throughout the songs.”
The album presentation tour starts this Thursday in Aretxabaleta. It will play in several localities of Euskal Herria and will reach Donostia-San Sebastián on February 7.
