On 14 November last, the PNV proposed in the Congress of Deputies a new measure against occupation. The proposal for the Jeltzale training, supported by several parties, was as follows: The measure was approved with the votes in favour of UPN, CC, pp, ERC, Junts and EH Bildu.
More than half a hundred social agents, including several assemblies of youth centers, centers and spaces in the Basque Country, joined the mobilization. It is not the first time that it has opposed this reform of the law seeking to criminalise the occupation. The first appearance took place on 22 November, eight days after the presentation of the measure in Congress.
Yesterday, they pointed out two of the main consequences of the adoption of this new measure. At the same time, they have denounced that "the expropriated class will lose the opportunity to access organizational spaces or satisfy the right to housing".
Regarding the second conclusion, they pointed out that “the issue of occupation is one of the central themes of fascism”. In the concentration, they have denounced that fascism blames current instability for "the battered layer of the working class" and opens a "stigmatized figure of occupation".
They pointed out as responsible all the parties that voted in favour of the measure. Faced with this situation, they have seen it necessary “for those of us who suffer the consequences of the offensive against the occupation, to organize ourselves and fight for criminalisation against the occupation.”
