The associations remember that blood donation is an act of solidarity: “We want to thank the people who donate blood to save lives every day for their effort and constancy, this year more than ever.”
A total of 13,640 residents participated, who recorded 21,933 blood donations, 2,897 afferesis donations and 6 self-administered blood donations. Navarre has been the Spanish State community with the largest number of blood donations per person.
In 2021, 1,833 people donated blood for the first time. Most were between 18 and 29 years old, and just over half were women.
This year the Adona Blood Donor Association will receive 300.820 euros from the Department of Health of Navarra to promote blood donation. The aim is to guarantee 22,000 blood donations and a minimum of 3,500 afferesis. As for bone marrow donation, the challenge is to get 525 bone marrow.
