Reclain the Fields brings together small agricultural producers and rural producers. The Amarauna area of Ziordia will host its eighth annual meeting. This meeting will bring together the people who are part of the movement and will deal with issues such as: exchanging projects and local struggles last year; discussing relevant issues in Europe and the world or plans on the organization’s progress. A number of workshops will be held for five days.
The organization is defined as follows:
We are talking about people who produce small-scale food for themselves or for the community and with the possibility of selling part of it. We also include agricultural workers.
We want to help people stay or go back to the camp. We want to promote food sovereignty and peasant agriculture, especially for young people and cities, as an alternative to life. We are destined to generate alternatives to the capitalist model, through cooperative, collective, autonomous initiatives, oriented to production according to our needs and on a small scale. We want to put theory into practice and establish a strong link between local action and global struggles.
To do this, we participate in local actions through groups of entrepreneurs and collaborate with existing initiatives. Therefore, we did not choose a homogeneous group, but opened ourselves to the diversity of actors, fighting against the capitalist model of food production. We address issues such as land availability, collective production and the right to seed. We hope to strengthen the impact of our work, working with entrepreneurs who work in other fields but share our vision.
However, our broad perspective has a limit. We are ready to regain control over our lives and reject any kind of authority and hierarchy. We are committed to respecting nature and living beings and we never accept any kind of discrimination based on race, religion, gender, nationality, sexual orientation or social status.
We dismiss it and oppose any form of human exploitation. With the same strength and energy, we will act with cordiality and coexistence, turning solidarity into a habit in our daily lives.
We support the struggle and prospects of Via Campesina and work to strengthen European youth. We want to share the knowledge and experiences of many years of struggle and life of the peasants, combining them with our visions and strengths that are not or are not peasant. We all suffer from the guidance of the same policies and are part of the same struggle.
