- Emanuel Macron V of France The eighth President of the Republic has left the second round. But the electoral cycle, which is full of unknowns, does not end there.
However, although it is certain who is the President, the parameters of the political phase that opens up are completely unknown: what majority will emerge from the parliamentary elections, what alliances will be made, what policies will be made and what the new President will be able to do, what will become the great political forces and how will the new political panorama stop in the French State? The environmental weight of the last few weeks and the violent in francs will not calm down immediately and the lack of stability is what most researchers predict.
The surprise appearance of Macron (whom no one had known for three years) is the result of his political genius. Some people say that it is above all a sign of a time of crisis and disorientation. During the campaign, due to the serious accusations against Fillon and Le Pen, the honesty of the candidates has long been in the middle of controversy, overcoming the confrontation between the political electives. The first round has clearly shown the rejection of the political class. Moreover, the main political forces (the Socialist Party and Les Républicains) that have periodically managed the French state in recent decades have been left out of the game. The political earthquake. New anger, frustration, and/or hope have been forcefully expressed with the results of Le Pen and Mélenchon. The alternative of the second round came to a halt and for two weeks there has been an intense and violent debate, not only in the media, but also in the public, in families, among colleagues and friends. On the one hand, the eternal grudge of the extreme right, xenophobia, lies and pure demagogy. Macron, who represents a calm change in front of him but proposes an unprecedented social crisis, is precisely the continuation and deepening of the neoliberal policies that have fueled the FN.
While some praise the victory of the young, dynamic and courageous president, others insist on the brutal numbers: one third of the electorate has somehow, by abstaining or voting for you, rejected the second-round election. Even more than half of the 20 million votes collected by Macron has been given to cut Le Pen’s way. The following day, the mark of an unseen situation, is the former mobilisation in Paris to question the president in defense of workers’ rights.
