Next Saturday is Navarra Day in Baigorri
- In the last two years the day has not been celebrated because of the pandemic and the neighbors and neighbors of Baigorri and the rest of the festival are looking forward to the present, being numerous throughout the Basque Country and especially in Navarre. This year the 43rd edition will be held on Saturday.
Precisely, the most important objectives of the Day of Navarra are to reclaim the relations of union between the inhabitants of Navarra and Euskal Herria, as well as to promote the Basque culture. Baigorri is calling for the achievement of these objectives and since 1979 the festival has been held every year until the arrival of the pandemic.
The Basaizea association is responsible for organising the Day of Navarra and, in addition, throughout the year it also organizes various cultural activities. Now, for example, the exposition of some 106 inhabitants of the territory of Garazi-Baigorri is shown in the old village house of Baigorri. Along with them you can also see reports and stock video creations, among others, the documentary videos made by the journalist Maite Barnetche in the 20th century.
The Day of Navarre brings together thousands of people and from the institutional point of view has also gained importance year after year, as more and more of the neighbours of Ipar Euskal Herria and the whole of Navarre.
The day is divided mainly into two parts. Below you can see how and where the morning and afternoon are organized, and the program of the day.
