The protocol for the return to the classrooms is based on the contingency plan developed by the Government of Navarra. The plan provides for four situations depending on the epidemiological situation and the possible positives at the centre - from normalcy to closure - and the Government has decided that it should be in person. To this end, it has introduced a number of amendments and special measures.
The centres will have to adapt their hours to establish the continuous working day from October onwards. There will be a dining room, but no after-school activities. From the 5th grade onwards, all students should wear a face mask, both inside the school and in the patio. The student groups will be kept in separate spaces also in the backyards. Students under the age of 4 will also have to wear a face mask in common areas, but wearing in class will be optional. Children under the age of 3 will not have to dress. In Child Education, the number of boys and girls per classroom has been adapted and the space will be shared by a maximum of 20.
The Government of Navarra has increased the budget allocated to the Department of Education before the health crisis to EUR 47 million. With this money, among other things, 666 people will be hired more than expected. There will be 183 more vigilantes in the canteens and EUR 4 million will be allocated to strengthen the cleaning service.
