The hotel owners of Navarre have stated that the latest measures decreed by the Government of Navarre to try to curb the pandemic risk that the premises "will be permanently closed". They say they're coming to the "boundary" situation. “From the outset we have realized the situation, but the current cutbacks have led us to the ultimate situation, both for the people who run the establishment and those who work there.”
Hospitality associations bring together about 1,500 partners in the sector, although there are 4,800 stores throughout the territory. They have made public a manifesto with the aim of "joining forces" and "listening", to "unite" the sector in this area.
They raise demands as an "immediate and real" rescue plan depending on the situation of the sector, until health declarations allow a 100% opening depending on the activity licenses. They have also called for clarification of the "bad image" that has been given to the sector on the ground.
They have also asked the municipalities for flexibility in the granting of terraces and in the temporary changes to the licences of premises which can currently only operate at night. They call on the Government of Navarre to inform in advance of the measures it intends to implement to facilitate planning. They have asked the Spanish Government, among other measures, to grant 100% of the payroll to the persons listed in the employment regulation dossiers and 100% of the aid to the self-employed.
In this respect, they will organise concentrations and other actions at local level. "We encourage you to activate this struggle, to spread this manifesto, each in your village or in your neighborhood," they have appealed to the members of the sector. They have also encouraged to participate in the demonstration that will start on Sunday, 15 November, at 12:00 hours from the Paseo Sarasate in Pamplona.
