The caravan Mugak ireki denounced on 17 July that what happens in rural areas is "a structural racism" going to the rural areas of Navarra. The group announces a manipulation to "absorb the maximum return to the crafts" of the immigrant workers. The lack of respect for labour agreements, poor health conditions, low wages and contempt and the penalisation of workers for labour rights have heard dozens of examples.
In this regard, they have demanded the following: Improving working conditions and at least meeting the requirements of labour conventions.
The caravan Mugak Zabaltzen has also criticised the behaviour of SAPA and other Basque companies that produce weapons on their travels from Navarra to Gipuzkoa: "We know that in the Basque Country weapons are manufactured and exported to provoke killings and massacres in eleven conflict zones: Syria, Yemen, Kurdistan, Palestine… And as long as conflicts continue in these peoples, people’s movements will continue.”
In the health context, they have not been able to travel outside Euskal Herria to denounce the "killer policy" of the European Union in the field of migration. However, the caravan Mugak Zabaltzen, for its part, has denounced the racist policies and discriminations being carried out from Euskal Herria. The group calls for participation in the European caravan to be held between 26 and 30 August in Brussels.
Through demonstrations, July 18 called for the regularization of "non-papers". The protests have taken place in Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián and Pamplona/Iruña. The Ongi Etorri Errefuxiatuak platform repeated the basic principle: "Regularization is a fundamental right and a first step towards the dignity of all people. It's not charity, it's social justice." In the following video, the talk will be in Spanish:
“COVID19 has aggravated the precariousness of the lives of the migrated people, which under the law of aliens already to the vulnerability of all their rights. But the struggle of migrants and refugees is still in motion.”
