10,000 public education workers in Navarra are on strike
- LAB, Steilas, ELA, CCOO and UGT call for reduced ratios, reduced temporality, reduced workloads, and improved purchasing power.
Today the 10,000 public education workers in Navarre are on strike. It is the second mobilization convened by the unions ELA, LAB, Steilas, CCOO and UGT. The previous one took place on 15 February, together with the administration and health staff.
Reduce ratios in all educational stages, temporarily reduce the "real" below 8%, reduce the work overload with more resources and recover comfort.
In the Region of Pamplona, at 10:00 the columns have departed from Cuatrovientos, Mendillorri, Barañain and Chantrea, and at 11:00 the demonstration was held at the headquarters of the Department of Education. Concentrations will also be held in Tudela, Altsasu/Alsasua, Doneztebe/Santesteban, Estella and Tafalla.

Without negotiation
Trade unions highlighted in their programme on 6 March that in addition to "improving working conditions" for teachers, the requested public service will "significantly improve". They say that "education is the main instrument for improving society."
For this reason, they encourage the other trade unions and other agents of the educational community to join the strike this Monday, and urge the Government of Navarra to continue the dynamic of mobilizations "until there is negotiation and no response to the demands".
In response to the journalists, CCOO Secretary General Pilar García has pointed out that on the 15th day the strike was "quite harsh": "The monitoring was done mostly by the educational sector, rather than the health and urban sector, and yet we have not received a response, it does not call us.
