A week ago, the Public Education Professors of Navarra convened by the unions Steilas, ANPE, AFAPNA, LAB, CCOO, ELA and UGT held a successful strike day, according to the organizers, which had a follow-up of more than 60%. However, they reported that "there has been no response from the government" to this situation n.Por, they have called a new strike day for teachers by 29 October.
They have asked the Department of Education run by Carlos Gimeno to stop "looking elsewhere" and start negotiating: "We want to solve the problems of public education and teachers. And that's what we have to do now," they explained in a statement.
Among its demands are the lowering of ratios, the end of the overload, the guarantee of stability or the recovery of lost purchasing power, among others.
To this end, they considered it essential that the Government take these demands into account in the budgets and have "the timetable and funding necessary for their implementation". For this reason, the trade unions have also called on the political forces of the Navarre Parliament to "strive" for the investment needed by the public school.
The trade unions have announced that in the coming days they will carry out more mobilisations and actions so that the engines of the 29 October call will start to heat engines.
