The Council shall be a collegiate, consultative body which shall organise citizen participation in the rights and duties of LGBTI+ persons.

Main functions

The principal functions of the body shall be as follows: Elaboration of mandatory reports on the equality of LGTBI+ people, elaboration of proposals for improvement in the performance of the services of the public administrations of Navarra, proposal of measures to promote and promote the social equality of LGTBI+ people and communication to the competent bodies, when they are aware of this, of situations of discrimination or violation of the principle of equal treatment and opportunities through sexual orientation, gender expression and sexual identity.

The Council will also receive annually a report from the Government of Navarre containing the actions identified in the context of treatment against diversity through sexual orientation, gender expression and sexual or gender identity.

Composition

The presidency of the Council shall be the head of the Department for Social Equality Policies for LGBTI+ persons, i.e. the current Minister for Citizen and Institutional Relations, Ana Ollo Hualde, who will be the first vice-chair of the Board of Directors of the body responsible for the social equality of LGBTI+ persons, the second vice-president of the LERTI.

In order to carry out the duties of the Navarro LGTBI+ Council, Working Committees may be set up in order to analyse the different matters which, in their interest, so require.
