The Court of Navarra rejects the appeal of the facts of the Sanfermines of 1978 and the association re-lodges the complaint
- Sanferseeds-78: remember! The association, the relatives of Germán Rodríguez, the person seriously injured in the events of the Sanfermines of 1978 and the Federation of Peñas of Pamplona, in January 2019, filed a complaint against the police attack in the Sanfermines of 1978 in Pamplona. This complaint was supported by the City Council of Pamplona and the Parliament of Navarra. After five years, the appeal is dismissed and the complaint file is ratified. A press conference has been offered to report on the situation.
Sanferseeds-78: remember! the association, the relatives of Germán Rodríguez, the people seriously injured in the events of the Sanfermines of 1978 and the Federation of Peñas de Pamplona denounce the “passivity” and “laziness” shown by these judicial authorities with the complaint.
They claim that this file shows the complicity of justice with the policy of impunity of the State and the institutions to treat this crime. The Association confirms that all the complaints they have raised in connection with the events of the Sanfermines of 1978 have been rejected and filed, arguing that there is insufficient evidence of police responsibility in crime. However, the association has underlined that in the bullring thousands of people witnessed the events and that in the murder of Rodríguez there were dozens of witnesses.
They denounce that the judges washed their hands and submitted themselves to the version of Martín Villa, who said: “our are defects, their crimes.”
They denounce the unfair reasons that justice has used not to value these facts and to avoid the answer. They have therefore announced that the order for the file will be appealed to the Constitutional Court and that they will submit a similar complaint to the previous one, so that they can judge the merits of the case and answer some questions.
They conclude by saying that they will continue to promote judicial, institutional and social initiatives until truth, justice and reparation are reached for the events of the Sanfermines of 1978 and their victims.
