Polls begin in the Otsobi Council land without asking for permission
- Preliminary surveys for the construction of the High-Speed Train on Otsobi Council sites have been initiated without information being provided and without request for authorisation. The Stop Surveys platform reports on the situation: "The surveys have been launched without informing the City Council of Iza or the Council of Otsobi about the possibility of geological investigations."
The construction works of tastings are a first phase of defining the connection of the High-Speed Train of Navarra with the Y of the Basque Country. So far, the owners of the land to be built in the area of Aralar and Sakana, or representatives of the municipalities, have not wanted to do so. The Stop Polls platform has denounced that the polls began last day 24 on land belonging to the Otsobi council and on the same Saturday residents were informed in an assembly.
On October 18, the Secretary of State for Transport, José Antonio Santano, took place in Pamplona. He said that in those places where the train could be passed the work would be carried out through “provisional occupations”. The survey work is being carried out near the current track area on land mostly owned by Adif, although it has also been included in the Otsobi Council area without notification.
The Stop Surveys platform investigates whether it is legal to carry out the surveys. The Administration says that they are “urgent works” and that it is therefore not necessary to make a request for authorisation. But the platform questions the urgency of what is being done.
Future surveys are expected to be carried out in the localities of Uharte-Arakil and Etxarri Aranatz.
