Adif has created 13 landfills for High-Speed Train works. These have caused damage to some municipalities. The mayors of these peoples have denounced their "helplessness" and have asked the Government of Spain and the political groups to help not to lose those land converted into landfills.
Geroa Bai, EH Bildu, Valencia-Ahal Dugu and at the request of IE, the Mayor of Barásoain (Rita Delia Roldán), the Mayor of Biurrun-Olcoz (María Luisa Serrano), the Mayor of Tebas-Muru Artedoza (Yolanda Obanos) and the Commission.
"Adif should not freely choose the total expropriation of these areas, there are other alternatives, such as much cheaper temporary occupation and as a city hall would not reduce our heritage so much," said the mayor of Garinoain.
Mayor Yolanda Obanos explained the need for a technician from the Government of Spain: "We need a technician to watch the occupied lands grow again". This technician, who cannot depend on the good will of the company, regrets that the municipalities are the "main recipients of complaints" of the neighbors, and that they are not able to defend them. In addition, he points out that these localities in the center are equipped with infrastructures and that those of the TAV have now been incorporated.
Barásoain Mayor Rita Delia Roldán has been surprised that the communal lands are "so easy" to expropriate, even more so when the majority are cultivated and "very productive".
They all denounce the impact of these infrastructures. In fact, these territories will become even more fragmented by roads, tunnels, bridges and landfills, causing landscape changes.
