The Vice President of Economic Development of the Government of Navarre, Manu Aimedio, welcomes the proposal. “Whoever has the competition, that is, the State, will ensure that the implementation of the clauses will make sure that things continue in the future,” he argues. In fact, the non-compliance clauses determine that if one of the parties fails to comply with the agreement, it will have to pay the other. In other words, if in the future the Government of Navarre did not comply with the agreement with the State on the TAV, the citizens would have to pay "compensation".
“I think it’s good that if it had been in the first agreement, now maybe we’d be in a different situation,” he says. For Navarre, the AVE has been described as “absolutely strategic” to solve the problems of merchandise and passengers and to incorporate them into European standards, which is why it has assured that they will continue to work.
The rest of the supporters of the government have opposed the high-speed model and have asked Manu Conjecti to agree with the rest of the parties on all the steps he takes in relation to the TAV.
