Iran sets two holidays by extreme heat
- On Wednesday and Thursday they were declared an emergency by the Iranian government. It can reach 40 degrees in the capital and over 50 degrees in different provinces.
Extreme heat is increasing worldwide. The Iranian Government expects an "unprecedented heat" for these days, not least because it can reach 40 degrees in Tehran, in the capital, and over 50 degrees in areas further south. The thermal sensation, in many places, has reached 66 degrees.
Authorities have acknowledged that working in this situation can be "unsustainable" and "harmful to health", and on Tuesday and Wednesday public and private companies will celebrate their party on government orders. They report that minimum public services will be decided by local authorities.
In Egypt, for its part, the EFE agency has announced that electricity is being interrupted from time to time. Because, because of the heat, the electricity grid can be "about to annoy" in many places and are mandatory measures.
