In the absence of a week to start the festivities in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the SGG and the Housing Union report that they have asked the City Council of Vitoria-Gasteiz for special authorization for the placement of the txoznas in another place of the city. In view of the ban found by the two agents of the Socialist Movement to put a txosna and “for this pending issue to be channeled in the best possible way”, Txosna launches a manifesto for all.
The manifesto has been signed by thirteen people: Oihane Perea, Fernando Antia Txiki, Rebeka Gonzalez de Alaiza, Mati Iturralde, JuantxuOzkoz, Goiza Pérez, Oier Azkarraga, Angel Madina Bodegas, Impact Lasheras, Mikel Elorza, Patxi Poio.
In February, it was reported that the Vitoria-Gasteiz Txosnas Commission prohibited the Housing Union and the Socialist Youth Coordinator from installing a txosna at the parties and the two groups that requested that the decision be amended at the time. In the manifesto they highlight that it is known that parties and txosnas are an indispensable tool to finance, influence and make visible, and denounce that some have problems to carry out their activity and to participate in parties.
They say that there are “many institutions and agents involved” with the capacity, responsibility and means to avoid this problem and stress that the municipal government of Vitoria and the municipal political parties are not mere spectators.
Application for authorisation
They denounce the need for the parties and the public holidays to be of all, underline in the manifesto that the political parties with institutional political representation in the city council have the responsibility and the responsibility to guarantee the participation of all in the festivities. They explain that the most appropriate solution is to give a positive response to the request of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz that the Socialist Movement can locate the txosna in another point of the city.
