Double standards
- Two major events have shaken the United States in recent weeks. On the one hand, in London, they have arrested Julian Assange, who allegedly helped Chelsea Manning crack a government password. On the other hand, they have completed the so-called Muller report, a document that has long aroused great expectation. It has been investigated whether Donald Trump participated in Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential elections. The possibility of an impediment to clarifying the matter has also been investigated.
I don't like any of these men. One of them has been denounced for forcing several women to refrain from taking protective measures in their sexual relations with them. In addition, he suffers a serious narcissism that has its origin in moral superiority, according to the same source. As for the other, it is difficult to know where to start criticising it, as it has done some despicable actions not only against women, but against all sorts of imaginable men, except against white, conservative and rich men. However, it is not surprising that people judge both by different values; after all, one is the leader of the United States and the other is hindering the rich and powerful.
In the more than 300 pages of the Muller report it can be found that, according to the government, Trump has tried to obstruct justice (which could lead to impeachment or impeachment), but he has not achieved his goal because his supporters did not dare. They do not therefore believe that they should be held accountable. Assange, for his part, has been violently extradited and imprisoned to be extradited to the United States, as he only tried to commit a minor crime of hacking, although he failed to do so.
It is not my intention to defend Assange. I believe that the left should stop whitening systematically. The foundations of their identity are the techno-anarchapitalist chimeras and the deep savior/savior mindset, and the allegations of violence against women seem plausible to me, which we can expect. But there is no problem. The truth is that this man has been distorted, detained, monitored and placed in a situation in which he may lose his head for an alleged attempt to commit a crime, while a rich and powerful person is being excused from his alleged crimes by means of an opposite argument.
In fact, both reasoning seem to be reasonable separately. In view of both, however, the functioning of power is clearly reflected in its cruelty. Assange, terrorist or political savior? We have to go beyond that simplistic dichotomy and start to look at what these facts tell us about the society that we are creating.
