After several canceled mobilizations in the previous weeks, Donosti's What Don't Tell You Group (LQNCD) finally held Saturday's. Only about 30 people joined the rally with the slogan to get a safer city. On the contrary, the anti-fascist counter-amanifstation, convened at the same time and in the same place, managed to bring together some 300 citizens.

The Ertzaintza closed the Easo Square with tape and distributed the two mobilizations, according to the journalist Inaxio Esnaola in Irutxuloko Hitza, but the mobilization of LQNCD left its space and faced the counter-amanifstation. Tension skyrocketed and the Ertzaintza charged anti-fascist protesters, causing several injuries. The police then took the mobilization of the LQNCD group with a banner out of the plaza.

The failure of racist mobilisation was recognised by the organizers in a message broadcast this Saturday on Telegram and Instagram channels: “We are very appalled by the response of the people. We understand that it's for fear. In any case, we are more angry with the action of the Ertzaintza. We will continue to report on our intentions. Every day we are clearer about who the true fascists are.” In addition to the organizers, there was also pain and indignation among the participants of the Telegram channel, who accused the other colleagues of not having appeared some of the attendees (the account currently has 2,700 members).

Defeat also in Vitoria

Since 8 October, the Errota district of Vitoria-Gasteiz has welcomed all racist mobilizations under the slogan For a safe and crime-free neighborhood. Last week, however, the organizers tried to make the leap, from the mobilization of the neighborhood to the city. “We call all the citizens of Vitoria-Gasteiz on the demonstration against the crime wave that affects our streets and neighborhoods,” the sign said. The quotation was in the center of the city, in the Plaza de Bilbao, concretizing that the demonstration would go through the streets Paz and France: the largest streets of the city, the usual route of the most massive demonstrations.

On Tuesday, however, the maximum number of people who approached the Plaza de Bilbao was 100. They manifested themselves, but the streets of the route were very wide. What the organizers managed to mobilize a smaller number of people than in the last demonstrations held in the neighborhood of Errota, in order to make the leap.
