Beyond Bertsolarism, the need to deepen and influence the rest of the oral disciplines has led the Mintzola Foundation to reflect on its objectives and its role during the last year. As a result of this process, the members of the board have unanimously decided to terminate the foundation's trajectory and propose that Euskaltzaindia collect the witness of the research and dissemination of orality.
The decision involves the physical distribution of the projects of the Oral Factory and the Bertsozale Association and, according to the institutions and agents that are part of Mintzola, it will entail a reorientation of the treatment of orality. Euskal Herriko Bertsozale Elkartea, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the City Council of Villabona, the UPV/EHU and the Kutxa Foundation have agreed to highlight the contribution of the Mintzola foundation to the Basque Country and to the Basque culture, which during all these years has promoted many studies and projects. At the same time, all the agents wished to express their thanks to all the people and agents who have worked in the Oral Workshop during these years, be they technicians, experts, researchers, citizens or institutions.
In the recent assembly, the members of the board have therefore prioritized the proposal for the dissolution of the foundation and the provision of the Basque Language Academy. After the approval of the latter, the agents involved will start a process starting in September, with the aim of continuing the study and dissemination of orality in Euskera, in order to be able to carry out the conditions of this relief in an adequate and consensual manner.
Mintzola Ahozko Lantegia was created in 2008. Based on Bertsolarism, in recent years the intention has been to promote the interaction between disciplines related to reflection and orality about oral tradition, uniting these disciplines with the new needs of society and reinforcing these disciplines. For this purpose, in the last decade he has attempted to delve into the research of Bertsolarism and build bridges to other oral cultural creations and to other improvised songs of an international nature that work in Euskera, recalling the reflections worked.
As has been done so far, the members of the board of the Mintzola Foundation have shown their willingness to cooperate because the revitalization of the Basque Country requires the cooperation and contribution of all.
