- A friend of the political prisoner Mikel San Sebastián in the Murcia prison suffered a car accident on Sunday morning in Oiartzun, on his return from Murcia. This Monday at 20:00 in Pamplona, Etxerate will make a concentration in front of the PP headquarters, asking for an end to the dispersion.
Mikel San Sebastián’s friend arrived in Lopidana at dawn on Sunday in a van from Murcia in Mirsoquin and then had to travel back in his car to Lesaka. After passing the toll of Oiartzun, he lost control of the car due to a storm and crashed into the median of the road. The car is completely crushed, but Mikel San Sebastian's friend is unharmed.
With this new tragedy, the number of relatives and friends of Basque political prisoners who have suffered an accident on their way to or from prison this year has increased to 10. In these 28 long years of dispersion, Etxerate denounces that in order to guarantee their right to visit, they must "face the physical, psychological and economic risks and costs imposed by the dispersion policy". The association recalls that "the situation of forced displacement has left 16 victims and a terrible balance of more than 400 accidents" for the time being.
