Recently, the Irun Reception Network warned that the police presence in Hendaia is “suffocating” and that at night they are catching migrants hidden in the corners of the town. He also criticized police action.
Along the same lines, the Diakite, Cimade and Etorkinekin associations have denounced that police action in France is illegal and is not at odds with it. Among others, they have denounced that minors are returned to the Spanish State and that the French State is violating human rights and international law. Last week, at least 30 people have been arrested at the Baiona and Bordeaux train stations by police officers.
They have also explained that the refugees are transferred by plane from the Canary Islands to Madrid, and that many of them arrive from there in Baiona: “We don’t know who arranges these trips, but it can be thought that the institutions support them.” Thus, they have warned that the reception point of the Pause in Baiona could be on the verge of saturation.
The associations have called for participation in the demonstration on 20 March in Baiona against the cuts in freedom.
