Mercadona has announced the establishment of a system for the recruitment of persons with an order of removal in its establishments, which will allow the entry into force of this measure. This "improvement of safety" is underway from June 1 in more than 40 shops in Mallorca, Zaragoza and Valencia, "explained in information posters".
The system works by identifying its physical characteristics, and it is believed that it detects "exclusively and exclusively" persons with a firm judgment and precautionary measure of distancing in force. As the sentences do not receive photographs, the company recognises the tool used by the system for identification: that the image of these people is in their hands. Mercadona stores in the database the images that have served as evidence in the judgments in which the removal orders have been issued, so that the system is conducting at all times a comparative operation with the people entering the shops.
According to the company, "the system makes it possible to detect the infringement and, once it has been scientifically verified that the person is involved, it is made known to the security forces". It has also indicated that the technology does not contain any additional information, as "it is eliminated in 0.3 seconds".
The Valencian company has stressed that, when implementing the measure, it has contacted the political and administrative authorities on a permanent basis to "obtain all the support and all the legal guarantees".
