He was a professor at the Mondragon Unibertsitatea Polytechnic School and later worked at the Diara company. In addition, as a passionate Euskaltzale, he participated in the founding process of the EDA. Later, when Elkarri was founded, he joined Arrasate's speech and worked with Joxe Ramón Elorza, who died in July, and with whom he committed to work. He was also one of the founders of the Arrasate Carving Association.
When he retired he went to live in Tolosa, and there he continued to work around the Basque country. Therefore, in 2010, Galtzaundi Euskara Taldea granted the Mention of Honor to Zuri, in recognition of "the great work done here and there in favor of the Basque Country".
A humble and joyful man, many on Leintz’s side remember Mattin and his wife, Bittori Etxeberria, who was always by her side. "She was a very nice couple, with a smile always in her mouth and wanting to work; people who have loved the Basque and the Basque Country a lot".
