On 23 January, an attempt was made in the Appellate Chamber to revise the judgment for the appeals brought by the defence and the prosecutor. The Altsasu gurasoak platform has explained that they amount to 72 years in prison for all young people and although they have not been tried "as terrorists", they have been sentenced "as terrorists". Parents intend to refer the sentence to the Supreme Court, as they consider the sentence to be full of vengeance and impunity.
The National High Court has ratified the penalties imposed in the case against jihadism. They face sentences of between two and thirteen years in prison. In the case of Iñaki Abad, the penalty of three years will be reduced to two years; even if the injury caused was less than expected. Although there is no accusation of terrorism, the sentence does not conceive what happened as a mere bar confrontation: it recognizes ideological reasons as the basis of the confrontation.
With the exception of Urkijo, all young people are imprisoned: Unamuno and Ramírez de Alda since November 2016 and the rest since June 2017.
On 24 March at 12:00 hours will begin the demonstration in favor of young people from the Fire Park: "We are clear that we are going to fill the streets of Alsasua with dignity, because everyone sees this as an injustice," he added.
Giza Eskubideen Europako Auzitegiak ez du aintzat hartu Altsasuko gazteek epaiketa bidezkoa izan zuten aztertzeko eskakizuna. Auzipetutako gazteetako batek, Iñaki Abadek, eman du jakitera berria.
