On 8 March 2024 it will not be a holiday in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, as decided by the Basque Government. The Vicelehendakari of the Basque Government, Idoia Mendia, proposed that this day be a holiday but opposed to the proposal some aspects of the opposition.

However, neither on March 8 nor any other feminist event will be a holiday in 2024 in Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. On Tuesday, the Basque Government has approved the work schedule next year, instead of 8 March, it will be 25 July, Santiago Eguna, which will be marked in red.
