In Pueblo de Alternativas we want to show the alternatives and projects that we are carrying out throughout the Basque Country, in their respective localities, neighborhoods, groups... And while showing it, sharing information, getting to know each other, reflecting and discussing among ourselves... complicity, alliance, trust... if we need and want it, to network and strengthen our different alternatives. That's the only way things will change!

On the 2nd of June, we will celebrate the People of Alternatives. During the day, we will turn the old town of Pamplona into a small town, filling it with reflection, practical alternatives and optimism. Constructive mobilization, making room for everyone.

We will reveal different alternatives through different activities: conferences, round tables, fair, workshops, street shows, games, food, drink. We look forward to your ideas and contributions!

The People of Alternatives, under the slogan “Sovereign Life with Right”, is an initiative that we are organizing by people and groups that work for a new social model. It wants to be a celebration and reflection party for the whole day that will take place on June 2 in Pamplona. It is a non-profit social project. It has an open character, so it can be approached by any person or group that adheres to the goal when they want it during the process. It is an initiative that aims to be diverse and bring together as many alternatives as possible from Navarre. We want to work on a new social model that puts people’s needs at the center. To do this, we want to show and discuss different alternatives throughout the day. To reflect on the alternatives, conferences and meetings will be organized and themes that give body to the program, social, energetic, linked to food, feminists, linked to language, economic, political, etc. They will be.

We will transform the Old Town of Pamplona into a Village of Alternatives with its fairs, conferences, round tables, workshops, performances, theatrical music, food and drinks.

In the elaboration of alternatives, we have defined six main axes. These, as they will be shown in the extensive programming of a day in the center of Pamplona, will be treated as thematic spaces and we will call them “neighborhoods”:

- Economic district: finance, currency, transformative social economy, distribution of wealth, employment...

- Peoples and land: energy sovereignty, climate change, waste, mobility, food sovereignty, consumption...

- Participation, democracy, sovereignty: the right to decide the economic, social, cultural and political model, socio-political participation, processes, solidarity among peoples...

- Multiple and dignified lives: origin, identity, sex, management of diversity around functionality, sustainability of life...

- Crucible: Basque language, education, Basque culture...

- Children's City or Republic: To the extent that we believe that positive, constructive models and initiatives of freedom are basic elements for the free development of people, children’s spaces will receive special attention.

This day seeks to strengthen the knowledge and network of different alternatives.

WHAT DRIVES YOU AND WHO THE PROJECT IS GOING TO

We are told over and over again that this system that we live in has no alternative, but it is not true. There are many projects that seek the sustainability of life rather than the search for benefits, which are practical alternatives at our disposal.

We want to show together all these different alternatives that exist and help build the network of these alternatives. In addition to knowing the different alternatives, we want to promote reflection on the different alternatives, and to show that the alternative is a good life, we want to celebrate the day in a festive atmosphere: with animations and food and drinks.

We call on people of all ages who want to spend a beautiful day, who have found a thriving program throughout the day in the Village of Alternatives.
