The group Sareinak, which unites literature and feminism, has been saying for years that the silent writer and creator Marijane Minaberri deserves a tribute. It would not have been the first tribute, but the team felt that we were not overly grateful to Minaberi. Sareina died in Minaberri in February with these thoughts.
With greater conviction, Urepele, Banka and Alduden joined the Adur Basque Association, which has been operating since 2012, and organized a humble tribute, on June 11, in Aldud.
Sanoki was approached by some 30 people, some of whom knew Minaberri perfectly. There were also younger people who knew his prolific work more than he did.
Report Commemorating Witnesses Premiered at the Event
The event was rounded up by the works of the creative banker. Of course, the room was sweetened with songs by Mikel Erramuzpe and Amaia Gortairu, singing the poetry written by Minaberri to the heron. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to listen to the words of Minaberri herself through the interview conducted by Televisión Kanaldude in 2008. This is where, as Gema Lasarte said in the presentation, the great woman who has been consumed by oblivion, asked about her work with humor and humble answers.
Josune Muñoz Sareinak gave a chance to get to know better the work of the founder of Banka, well known to some listeners, not so well known to others. He highlighted the high-quality works of the writer who signed the pseudonym Atalalki, the sonority of his works, his work for children, and his wide look, which he worked on plays, poems, comics, short stories.
Once again on stage the work of the banker, this time from the voice of his friend and colleague Gexan Alfaro. He read the story The Gorosti Plant.
Afterwards, Kanaldud offered a report of more than 20 minutes. The journalist Pantxika Maitia has collected the testimonies of four people who met Minaberri (Xipri Arbelbide, Itxaro Borda, Aines Dufau and Luzien Etxezaharreta) in her work. They introduced us to Minaber as one of those who has opened the way for their writer wives, who included their work everywhere. She was described as a humble woman who did a silent job, even a wife who underestimated her work. They insisted that the allegory and humorous banker has left a treasure that must be preserved. The testimonial video helps to make a beautiful photo of Minaberi, and as one listener said, “the event will end but the testimonial video will be there forever.”
And to end the event, the musician who unveiled the founder in the Basque Country South, Natxa de Felipe from Oskorri, sang Marijane! He sang two songs on the album.
The organizers, before saying goodbye, faced the challenge for ten years: if a decade later there is a street in Banca or the school has the name of Marijane Minaberri, so that the great and silent work of the founder is forever exposed.
In Televisión Kanaldude you can see the interview to Minaberria in 2008 and the report Commemorating the Witnesses premiered at the event. The event itself will be coming soon at www.kanaldude.tv.
When an old man (writer) dies, it is part of the memory of the world melting into nothing. Despite the measures, the resolution of the well-known Amadou Hampaté Ba can also be applied to the shrimp created in Banka. Whatever it was, it was this idea that ripped my hull when I... [+]
