LAB, CGT and social movements will be mobilized in Baiona on 1 May
- The unions and associations of Ipar Euskal Herria have shown the most powerful image of the old days this Thursday morning. On 1 May, the LAB and CGT trade unions, the EBA platform, will be jointly mobilised in Baiona, bringing together the Bizi altermudialist movement, the youth movement and feminist collectives.
The First of May will come in six columns and each of them will have a claim: the fight for climate, the defence of the world working class, the defence of social protection and public services, the denunciation of youth insecurity and the demand for equality between men and women. The appointment is in Plaza Santa Ursula de Baiona, at 11:00 in the morning.
LAB's general coordinator, Eñaut Aramendi, explained that "you cannot pretend to join forces". And they will do so, because it is the more unitary labor mobilization seen in the Lapurdi Pass, given the relationship between LAB and CGT, the call is more important than ever.
At a press conference, they pointed out that young people are increasingly present in other demonstrations that are taking place in recent times, such as in favour of the climate or against the G7. In this sense, they have considered it necessary and necessary that the First of May also have a leading role in a differentiated block.
At the end of the demonstration, a small village has been organized in the Baiona market with the aim of serving as a meeting point between different movements.
