Magna recently announced its intention to resume the quarry project it intends to carry out in the Erdiz areas and, after meeting with representatives of the General Assembly of Baztan, announced its intention to make an informative round to present its project to the farmers who come to the Erdiz pastures to eat their livestock. In total, four meetings have been organized, one for each Baztan headquarters. The purpose of these meetings is to present a proposal to promote extensive livestock farming in Erdiz to the baserritars.

On the occasion of the meetings announced by Magna, the Erdiz Bizirik platform, together with several Baztan farmers, has explained its vision of Magna’s project.

Baztan farmers have stated that "we know what needs to be done to promote extensive livestock farming in Erdiz: Do not make a 100-acre hole in the best pastures, do not kill the fountains and streams of the subsoil, or fill the surroundings with ashes, pistes and machines."

Faced with the decision of the General Board of Baztan to conduct a popular consultation on Erdiz, Magna has been asked whether it will respect the decision of the baztans and whether it undertakes not to initiate any expropriatory process or UGPS. "Until you answer the questions before, we do not recognize the legitimacy to carry out any participatory process, because we know what you want to use these open conversations: to impose your project without respecting the words of the farmers and baztandarras."

As they explained at a press conference, "there are only two options in the grasses of Erdiz: Livestock or mining, life or death, local economy or multinationals." The Erdiz Bizirik platform and the farmers wanted to make it clear that they are against the mine and have encouraged Baztan's neighbours to "not participate in Magna's speeches". "We know that Magna, to justify the participation of these meetings, the peasants agree with the project and that the popular consultation is not necessary to say that it is not necessary. Therefore, we ask all the farmers and baztans: Do not take part in these days! ".
