On Saturday, the Interquadrillas Championship of Álava was presented in Meztu, a team project. The 2010 Bertsolaris Interquadrille Championship was a milestone for Alavese bertsolarism. Since then, this initiative has been organized in groups every two years, which this year will be the seventh edition.
Following the path of the years 2018 and 2020, the championship will also have a Championship format and will aim to deepen the path to date: to introduce and strengthen the movement that has been building Alavese bertsolarism for years.
Championship in which teams participate in two modalities: spontaneous and written.
As for spontaneous transmission, 12 groups have been formed. They will operate 3-6 bertsolaris, as well as speakers, judges, photographers, recorders and cooks. In total, groups of 9-12 people participate. The groups are also organizers, as they have organized the sessions in their locality or region. This year, a total of 64 people will participate in bertsos, 16 as judges, 16 as rapporteurs and other functions such as chroniclers, photographers, cooks, musicians... The following districts will participate: Ayala, Rioja Alavesa, Mendialdea, Llanada (two groups), Gorbeialdea (four groups) and Vitoria (three groups).
The written form has also been organized, in which 16 groups will participate: Gazte Asanblada, Mintzalagun taldea, group of friends, members of the school of bertsos... who will prepare, write and sing to the public or the general public. Representatives of eight Alavese counties will participate in the bertsolaris modality. These teams will participate in improvised modality sessions.
In total, and taking into account spontaneity and writing, a total of 280 participants will participate in different roles in this year’s Crew.
The organization shared between the bertsolaris schools and the Alavesa association of bertsolaris, based on the collective character and popular bertsolaris, will be extended from 27 January to 25 March.
