Coalition spokeswoman and candidate for lehendakari, Maddalen Iriarte, stressed that Euskal Herria Bildu has won 23,000 more votes in the three territories than in the last elections and 22 seats, “for the moment”. In fact, “we have not lost hope of achieving even better results when the rest of the votes are counted,” he said in Donostia-San Sebastián. The 22 seats of EH Bildu have happened throughout the election night and the last official count of the sovereign coalition will not be known until Friday.

Iriarte thanked all the citizens who have trusted EH Bildu: “We have said this time and time again: there are more and more people close to our values in this country, from the left, from sovereignty, from feminism, from the center of care… All those people who want to deal with this climate emergency have trusted us and change has only just begun. EH Bildu is getting wider, it's going to be the one that's going to bring more and more people together."

Iriarte has also agreed on the current pandemic and on those who have suffered the “shaking” of Covid-19, as well as on those who “have made it possible to advance our lives” in this pandemic, as health workers or supermarket ATMs, “to all of them also thank”.

Once the results have been known, he has drawn his hand in the name of the independence force, “to build this people from the left and sovereignty, to build a people.”

Eh Bildu has followed the election night in the Donostia district of Igara, in which numerous representatives of the sovereign coalition have participated. Arnaldo Otegi has also appeared in the media following the appearance of Iriarte.
