Defenders of the social train claim the Loginfohostal -Castejón project in Tafalla
- Dozens of people concentrated on Tafalla Train Station this Sunday to protest the High-Speed Train and the Social Train. With the current high-performance train project, the district of Tafalla will be left without a railway station.
This model is clear to the representatives of the platform working for the social train in Tafalla: what the Government of Spain, the Autonomous Community of La Rioja and ADIF (Administrator of Railway Infrastructures of Spain) have now done to unite Castejón and Logroño. The railway line will be reinstated, but with the existing infrastructure and with a maximum speed of 200 kilometres per hour, the train will be re-circulating.
This is, in essence, what defenders of the Navarre social train have demanded since they presented the project base in 2018. The question of the organizers of the Tafalla meeting is clear: “What serves to unite Castejón and Logroño, why doesn’t it serve Casteeled–Tatreatments–Iruñea-Vitoria? Why does what serves La Rioja not serve Navarre?”
With the High-Performance Project currently underway to unite Castejón and Iruñea, several towns would be left without current railway stations, such as Tafalla and Alsasua, so the citizens are mobilizing to demand a public and social train.
