The LGBTIQ+ community fills the streets of Argentina, against Milei

The streets of several Argentine cities have witnessed protests against President Javier Milei on Saturday, convened by numerous social movements around both the LGBTIQ+ community and antifascism. The demonstrators took to the streets on the occasion of their statements at the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, between 20 and 24 January.
Among other things, the Argentine president linked the queer movement to child abuse: "In its extreme versions, the gender perspective is a clear abuse of children. They're pedophiles." In addition, she explained that feminism is a "distortion" of the concept of equality, which seeks only "benefits".
The media outlet El Salto has published that the call has brought together about two million people in different parts of Argentina, and the organizers have extended the call to all members of the LGBTIQ+ community in the country to meet: "The response to economic violence, political persecution and sexual repression by the government of Javier Milei has the colors of our community; uniting and making alliances throughout the country, articulating all our differences."
