On Tuesday, 15 December, the Basque mountain group Etzandarri, invited by EH Bildu, would present at the Committee on Sustainability, the Environment and the Natural Environment of the Basque Parliament the proposal "The cliffs of Lemoiz, the protected natural space, is now time". As explained by the group member, Iosu Alberdi, this proposal envisages the creation of a network of itineraries in this environment, as well as the protection of this natural area. As he explained, this is the site of the Lemoiz nuclear power plant, in which the reception, rest and parking points for these routes are located, "taking advantage of those infrastructures that are abandoned".
However, he stressed that the project covered the entire coastline of Lemoiz, from the tip of Mount Etzandarri to Usategi, as well as all the land of the nuclear power plant, including the Urbieta reservoir and the Martzaga district. Convinced of the enormous values that this natural area has, they have elaborated and transferred the proposal to different institutions and political parties such as the City Council of Lemoiz, the groups PNV and EH Bildu; the parties PSE, Elkarrekin Podemos, PNV and EH Bildu; the Provincial Council of Bizkaia; the Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries;
The Etzandarri Group has announced that it will carry out tours to make the proposal known live when health measures to deal with COVID-19 are relaxed.
