"The festival has come to an end, but not all the reasons that led to the festival being held have disappeared. The situation of Basque political prisoners, refugees and deportees continues to require the involvement of Basque society. (…) So, Hatortxu leaves, but to give way to the new tools," said the organizers, who reported on the end of the Hatortxu Rock. The festival will be held in Villava, and from 24 to 27 July in Lakuntza, will be the last edition that aims to be "Historic".

Seventeen groups make up the penultimate and 29th edition of the Hatortxu Rock: ETS, Süne, Maskak, Marabiyak Sound, DJ Reymi, Tatxers, Lendakaris Dead, Roba Estesa, Sofokaos, Les Testarudes, Goxua’n Salsa, Apotheke, Toc, Arene 6, Kop, Su ta Unidad and Alavesa.

Starting from the fact that the "profound changes" in society's customs and the "new political scenarios" make "indispensable" new forms of solidarity and involvement, the meeting place for Basque political prisoners, exiles and deportees has come to an end. But before that, they want to celebrate the path they have taken: "Once we have achieved the end of the dispersion we wanted but aware of what remains to be done on the road to your home, we want to finish in the best way. Giving way to new forms of solidarity with humility and proud of the path traveled."

Hatortxu Rock, which was first held in 1999, will be its thirtieth edition in July 2025.
