Demonstration convened by SEASKA this Saturday in Pau
- Last Tuesday, representatives of the French State, the Public Organization of the Basque Language (EEP) and SEASKA met. They did not reach an agreement. National Education has not approved more than five jobs for the Iparralde Ikastolas Federation.
The visit of the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, is scheduled for 8 September in Pau. Therefore, SEASKA has once again called on Basque citizenship to demonstrate in the Plaza de Pau.
In fact, the last meeting with the rector of the Bordeaux Academy, Olivier Duinfluenza, with EEP and SEASKA, did not produce any results. The director of the Ikastolas Federation, Hur Gorostiaga, told us that “the current agreement will be revised by one month.” I had also told them: “They will not have more resources for SEASKA – more teaching posts – to transfer the petition to the Ministry of Education.”
Since then, SEASKA has organised a demonstration in Pau. The Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, will visit the main market of the city and SEASKA has made an appeal to mobilize from 11:00 hours. It will not be the first or the last mobilisation that has been organised recently.
