The workers of the company Alestis de Miñano made this Monday at noon the first scheduled stop for the next four days, from 11:00 to 12:00. In this way, they wish to denounce the dismissal that took place on 10 January by the management. The company dismissed a worker under Article 54.2.d of the Workers’ Statute, i.e. a disciplinary dismissal.
According to workers' representatives, dismissal "has no raison d'être nor no legal sustenance". The Works Council has described as "absurd" the arguments used to justify dismissal and has denied those attributed to the redundant worker. Workers' representatives denounce that they are facing free dismissal: "The company has the ability to dismiss a worker without claiming any real cause and, worse still, it can be considered improper and repaired with money."
Alestis workers will hold protest stops from Monday to 23 January in three shifts: From 11:00 to 12:00, from 16:00 to 17:00 and from 22:00 to 23:00. They want to send a clear message to the management of the company, in which they will not accept any free dismissal.
