There were two demonstrations, in the capital of Bizkaia the mobilization began at six o’clock from the Sacred Heart, while in the capital of Navarre, an hour later from the Plaza del Castillo. It has been denounced that a new fascism is growing spontaneously and that in most European countries the extreme right is gaining more and more strength. In the face of this, the GKS insists on the need to build a socialist alternative to the working class.
To this end, two main tasks have been laid down: on the one hand, to build the unity of the working class and, on the other, to strengthen “more than ever” the cooperation between the movements and collectives of the working class.
Due to bad weather, the crowd gathers in front of the Bilbao City Hall after a journey of about an hour. In it, the spokesmen have voiced aloud their commitment to the spread of socialist consciousness against the fascist ideology.
They explain that the war agenda cannot be normalized and put the complicity of oligarchies, big businessmen and professional politicians to the test. In view of this, reference has been made to the need to raise awareness against the strategic agenda of the oligarchy.
In Pamplona, the consequences of the cultural war financed by the great capitalists have also been explained in the same way. They denounce the commitment to disseminate racist, sexist and authoritarian ideas and the growing expansion of this reactionary ideology in certain middle and working class strata. The organization has expressed its commitment to “show the teeth” to anarchist reaction positions.
Thousands of people in Bilbao and Pamplona have mobilized to face these trends, and the GKS has extended its hand to working collaboratively to working class groups in the face of this issue. They explain that they will oppose the agenda of the oligarchy among the young workers of the Basque Country, and they have said clearly that they will continue to organize and fight to make the possibility of socialism a reality.
