At noon this Wednesday a carrier died in the company Arcelor Mittal de Olaberria (Gipuzkoa) as a result of an accident. LAB reports death: “According to the first data, the deceased carrier has been hit while carrying out the loading and unloading tasks, crushing him against another truck. The carrier has died right away.” The union has shown its solidarity with the relatives, friends and colleagues of the deceased and has denounced the accident.
Seventh death in Hego Euskal Herria so far this year
LAB recalled that in 2013 there was a death similar to that of Garoña in the same company. This year seven workers died in Hego Euskal Herria in an occupational accident, according to the union. In the light of this, he has called for mobilisation “among all, workers and society, to stop this massacre”. It has also addressed the Basque Government: “Where are those responsible for the Gasteiz Government to report these deaths? What changes and steps are you prepared to take to curb this situation and this criminal model?”
