New ideology of rural life
The economic suffocation has led to the beginning of the rural exodus of the urban population, reinforcing the extensive rural areas and the consequent rejuvenation of their population, which, although it is true, had been for some time trying to repopulate the populations conquered by many municipalities and offering birth aid, being pioneer the Navarro de Erro Valley in the Pyrenees. Agriculture, livestock, fisheries and forestry are the sectors that have been declining for decades, stifling the unfair skills imposed by the “global economy”. However, they have enormous potential to generate bio-employment, but this would require the implementation of protectionist measures from the European Union, that is, aid to the agri-food industry for the implementation of the label for all its manufactured products.
Thus, in Hego Euskal Herria, some 50,000 jobs could be created for organic food production, promoting local consumption of indigenous agricultural products and livestock, creating sustainable coastal reserves for the inshore fleet and protecting forest species that sustainably produce the biomass needed to reduce chronic dependence on fossil fuels.
