Lakua has granted environmental approval to the photovoltaic company project Comunion III, S.L. The new solar installation will feature 10,400 solar panels in Lantarón. Four installations with a total of 35,500 panels are planned.
The project will be built on cereal and beet growing land, near the Zubilhgh-Polygon. They say they will not build it in protected natural spaces or of special natural interest. However, 200 meters from the plant, there is a Green Infrastructure Biodiversity Reserve of the Basque Network, included in the Network of Ecological Corridors of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country and in the Open Catalogue of Relevant Natural Spaces.
The report contains measures to prevent disease in natural areas. Measures include reduction of soil movement, closure of facilities and waste management.
