Ibai Capot Thornary, head of AEK on the last day, says they have organised a “big party like the one that Korrika deserves.” After 11 days touring the Basque Country under the motto Harro Herri, 23. Korrika stepped the capital of Lapurdi on 24 March and reached the Plaza de la Libertad at 12:30 from the Santizpirita Bridge. In the closing event, guided by the popular face of the television channel Pantxika Maitia Kanaldude, and after bringing the witness to the end with the representatives of AEK, Garazi Arrula, the author of the secret message, has read the message this year. Subsequently, AEK sent its message to thousands of Euskaltzales.
The last few kilometres have been carried out by Cées Esku; Etxerat, Sare and Bakebidean; Errigora; various political parties; Basque trade union majority; UEMA and Udalbiltza; Hekimen; educational agents; Azterlan Euskaraz, tribute to this year’s Korrika; Kontseilua and the Basque Confederation;
Numerous concerts and initiatives
The festival has been divided into four spaces designed for all audiences. The Plaza de San Andrés will host the Naiz space (also lilac point), the Etxepare Institute at the Xaho pier (where dirty food will be provided) and the other two spaces will be the Plaza del Mercado and the Plaza Patxa. There will also be many activities on the streets, spreading the Basque claim, and they have remembered that the Korrika Lagun will also celebrate the closing day.
The concerts have been organised in cooperation with the cultural agents of Iparralde: Ibil Bedi, Anje Duhalde, Xiberoots, Xutik, Haira, TOC, Zetkin and Nakar, among others. There will be a child txoko and the Pontx clown.
